QUOTE OF THE DAY

**What i'm gonna try and do is pop on a quote of the day either from todays news or from one of me favourite tele shows. Because it is the first one i thought i'd do more than one, and they all come fromthe mighty BBC2 comedy tele programme - RED DWARF***

Rimmer: "I used to be in the Samaritans."
Lister: "I know. For one morning."
Rimmer: "I couldn't take any more."
Lister: "I don't blame you. You spoke to five people and they all
committed suicide. I wouldn't mind, but one was a wrong number! He only phoned
up for the cricket scores!"

Rimmer and Lister, The Last Day

Cat: "Hey, I got it! We laser our way through!?"
Kryten: "Ah, an excellent
suggestion, Sir, with just two minor drawbacks. One, we don't have a power
source for the lasers, and two, we don't have any lasers."

Cat and Kryten, White Hole

Lister: "Well, if you've got some amazing secret plan up your sleeve,
Kryten, now's the time to mention it."
Kryten: "No plan, sir. No sleeves."

ARCHIVE - Take That at SECC

***This is my little entry about me going to see the mighty Take That at the Glasgow SECC on 1st May***

Set of for Glasgow early afternoon and it only took us a couple of hours to get there. When we got off the bus we headed to our hotel which was the Crowne Plaza which was connected to the SECC. It took us about 45 mins to walk there (Taxi back I think). We got to our room and got settled in. We went to the bar for a few drinks and ordered in a chinese takeaway. We sat in our room and watched the tele while we had our tea. Then we started to get ready at about 6.30. Headed to the SECC just after 7.15pm. Got in and got a drink and me programme. Then we managed to find our seats in Block B. The lights went down and it started with Beverly Knight supporting them she wasn't too bad. The crowd started to reach fever pitch and started a mexican wave. And then at 8.30pm the lights went down and the screams got louder. Then the lads came on stage and the noise was unbelievable. We screamed like teenagers. They started with Once you've Tasted Love and it was so good. And then it was Pray(still me fav.) and they did the original dance routine too..really well. The show flowed along smoothly. They then did the Beatles Medley in the middle of the arena on a platform, along with a acoustic version of 'how deep is your love' and 'love ain't here anymore' Then they went back to the stage through the crowd.
One of the best bits was when they took the piss out of boybands..so funny!! And a great update version of Sure, mixed with the gorillaz. They also did different versions of 'It only takes a minute' and 'everything changes'
There dance routines were spot on and really good seeing they are all pushing 40!! And Gary's vocals great. For 'babe' we all had to take out our mobile phones and shine the lights from them. We also had to sing 'Flower of Scotland' for the band and we did ourselves proud - singing like true scots.
The best 3 songs were left till last with them doing 'Back for Good' in the rain and they whole arena singing along. Then it was 'Could it be Magic' with a huge hologram of Robbie and his new vocals which were top. Then the last tune was 'Never Forget' and to see 9,000 pairs of arms up in the air was amazing.
All in all what a fantastic night and i loved every single second. I was a teenager all over again. But i have me aches and pains afterwards - sore back, arms, legs and throat with all the singing and dancing i did..but by heck it was so worth it.

***Ah what a great nite, also went down to Manchester on 6th May to see them again. And i'm off to Milton Keynes on 25th June***

ARCHIVE - April 2006 - Alien Autopsy Premiere

****Here is my wee story about my trip to Newcastle to see the premiere of the UK film - Alien Autopsy starring Ant & Dec****

Me & me pal Jenni set off from a very snowy aberdeen at 6.30am on tuesday morning by megabus. The Journey went surprisingly quick seeing we had 7 hours on a bus. We finally reached Newcastle at about 1.45pm and it was quite cold too. We headed out to our hotel in Gateshead and got settled in. Decided to have a KFC for tea as it was right outside the hotel. We then just sat and watched tele and then got ready to go out.

At about 6.15pm we headed out to 'The Gate' in Newcastle for the big premiere. Was really excited. Loadsa fans there. Didn't hang around and just headed into the complex to keep warm. But then at 7pm the doors opened and we went back out of the complex and we got to walk up the red carpet and escorted up in the lift to the cinema. Huge place. We got into our seats and got comfy. The start was delayed because ant & dec were greeting their fans outside the cinema. (Wished we got popcorn - was blinking starving)

We finally got going just after 8pm with Ant & Dec introducing the film before the start, then the lights went down and the film started. It was based on the Alien Autopsy footage that was broadcasted in 1995. The film starts a bit slow with them explaining the story etc but slowly picks up when the faking of the autopsy begins with some funny moments there. The film isn't a joke a minute film but some bits are really good and funny. And make sure you don't miss dec's sex scene!!!

When it finished and Ant & Dec's names came up on the screen everyone cheered and clapped as the lads made their exit.Overall I had a great nite out in newcastle once again and the film..It won't be everyone's cup of tea and some people may not like it. It has had mixed reviews from the press. It seems to be that the younger people's press is giving the thumbs up where as the older is giving it a big no-no. It won't make them into huge film stars but if you are an ant & dec fan you will enjoy the lads performance. With the reviews I have seen it seems that the storyline is this films bad points but ant & dec's performances are superb for their first film.

***Had a Gr8 nite****
